Assigned to the 555th Bomb Squadron this Marauder crashed on take off at Great Dunmow on 20th May 1944. The aircraft was destroyed but the crew of six survived.
It had been christened by actress Loretta Young at Selridge Air Base, Michigan, prior to assignment overseas.
