This Skytrain C47 survived the war and was initially sent for salvage on 22nd October 1945. It was not scrapped however and was put into civilian use as a DC-3 with the registration number NC74597 and continued flying until at least 1952 with that coding.
It was later purchased by Standard Vacuum Oil Co, re-registered as PK-SVE it was one of two DC-3s based at Palembang, Sumatra. By 1973, it had passed into the ownership of National Air Charter and re-registered yet again to PK-WWJ.
