A War Bond plane purchased from bonds sold to citizens of Palm Springs in February 1943 which raised a total of $455,587. Enough to buy the B25 Mitchell and an additional pursuit plane.
As part of the campaign, a "Bomber Queen" was selected and named as Miss Gloria Flavin who was destined to be crowned at the naming ceremony of the B25.
