Basing his image on that created originally by Milton Canif's character in the popular cartoon strip Male Call, Drake painted a stunning version of Miss Lace on this B24.
The image was a favoured one for nose art but Drake's subtle use of toning, no doubt using his meagre supply of artists' oil paint given to him by his wife, is one of the finest examples.
Again, this was one piece of work on which he enlisted the help of a fellow officer. Unfortunately, the extra name in the signature block beside the right foot is not legibly on available photographs. (If anyone has a better print of this image and can identify the full signature block I would love to learn of it.)
